The City of Halifax Project
“Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody,
only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.”
- Jane Jacobs
The purpose of this project is fine art photography in the tradition of magazine photojournalism through which a story is told through a series of photographs . It will present a portrait of the Halifax Regional Municipality, how the city runs and portray the people who make it work to create a civil society, from the mayor and councillors, to the water and sewage sytem, the parks, the police, the firefighters, the transit system, the libraries, and the support for the arts and cultural communities which the city provides. This will be accomplished through a series of blogs to be posted over a two year period on a website freely available to the public.
